Adult B'nei Mitzvah

Beginning this February, we will be offering several adult education programs at Temple Emanuel, taught by Rabbi Rosenberg. An adult B'nai Mitzvah class will be held on Tuesday nights starting February 1st, 7:30-9:00pm. This class is open to Temple members who would like to have a b’nai mitzvah, however never had one, or may want to learn more about Jewish prayer and the skills required to read a small section of from the Torah. The first half of the class will cover a basic Hebrew curriculum; the second half of the class will deal with learning tefillah according to reform liturgy, as well as learning to chant from the Torah and basic trope skills. The class will culminate at a Shabbat service in May where students will be called up to the Torah as B'nai mitzvah. Students may also choose to participate in the research and presentation of a d'var Torah.

Cost for the adult b’nai mitzvah class is 75.00 to cover materials used in the course.
